MY PROJECT IS FINISHED, BUT THE DOCUMENTATION CONTINUES.
IF YOU WANT TO BECOME A CONTRIBUTING BILLIONGRAVES PHOTOGRAPHER, JUST FOLLOW THESE 4 EASY STEPS!
STEP 1
DOWNLOAD THE BILLIONGRAVES APP ON YOUR SMARTPHONE.
Find the app in Google Play Store or Apple App Store and download it to your smartphone.
You will not need to create a BillionGraves account until you are ready to upload images in Step 4.
You need the app because it is the only way to track the photos you contribute. The app also attaches GPS coordinates to each photo for accurate mapping.

STEP 2
LOCATE AND TRAVEL TO A NEARBY CEMETERY THAT HAS NOT BEEN DOCUMENTED.
You can visit BillionGraves.com to find a cemetery, or I can help you find one. Please contact me using the form below if you would like my help.
Cemeteries marked with green pins have less than 20 uploaded images. Blue pins indicate cemeteries with no uploaded images.
If you know of a cemetery that is not yet identified on BillionGraves, please let me know. I can get it located and confirmed by BillionGraves so that you can then photograph it.
STEP 3
PHOTOGRAPH HEADSTONES USING THE BILLIONGRAVES APP.
You must take photos in the BillionGraves app so that you can upload them.
Photos taken in the BillionGraves app are not stored on your phone or in any cloud-based service that you use.

My top 3 photo tips:
Make sure all names and dates are in the photo frame and are readable.
Stand to the side to avoid shadows and shoes in photos.
Use the link image feature in the app. You must select the chain icon before taking each photo that you want to link.
STEP 4
UPLOAD IMAGES USINGÂ THE BILLIONGRAVES APP.
When you finish taking photos, upload them in the BillionGraves app.
If you want to preserve any limit you have on data usage with your mobile carrier, consider waiting to upload until you can connect your phone to wi-fi.
