Rhonda Cordell | A Very Special Volunteer

Writer's picture: Logan DesaulniersLogan Desaulniers

This enthusiastic lady has such a giving heart! She is fun, smart, witty, and an all-around great person! Mrs. Cordell is the mother and mother-in-law of Alicia and Josh Ricker, respectively. Josh and Alicia are Mercersburg Troop 143's former Scoutmaster and Assistant Scoutmaster, also respectively. When I joined Troop 143, Josh and Alicia had just stepped into their new leadership roles. Jason Summers is now Troop 143's Scoutmaster. I am very grateful to all of these wonderful people who give and have given their time, energy, and resources to the mission, vision, goals, and values of scouting. I am honored and humbled by their support.

On March 20, 2021, the day of the documentation event at the Sideling Hill Christian Cemetery in Fulton County, Mrs. Cordell set out on her own documentation event in Franklin County, Fulton County's neighbor to the east. Within one week, Mrs. Cordell had contributed in excess of 1,400 images to BillionGraves.com, many of which were taken at the Welsh Run Church of the Brethren Cemetery and the St. Thomas Town Cemetery.

Mrs. Cordell did not stop there. She kept on traveling around Franklin County and Cumberland County, taking pictures, and uploading them in support of my project. In total, Mrs. Cordell has contributed 5,040 images! Thank you, Mrs. Cordell! You are an amazing, committed, and selfless volunteer! The whole world needs more people like you!
